A 65-year-old woman fended off a would-be carjacker outside a Brooklyn Park supermarket, screaming and kicking him in the groin, Anne Arundel County police said.

The victim told police that she was getting into her car parked outside Shoppers Food Warehouse, in the 5700 block of Ritchie Highway, about 1:30 p.m. Thursday when a man approached and pulled open her driver's side door

He grabbed her by her left arm, said "Get out," and tried to yank her from the vehicle, police said. The victim said she started screaming and fought back, eventually kicking her attacker in the groin area
