4-Year-Old Saves Mom With OnStar Call
LOVELAND, Colo. -- Ariana Evans, 4, is being hailed a hero after making a critical call for help. The girl's mother had passed out behind the steering wheel with Ariana and 2-year-old brother Alex in the car.
Evans was able to slip out of her car seat and press the OnStar button in the car after her mother blacked out. Emergency crews were immediately dispatched to the vehicle which was in a parking lot at Bittersweet Park in Greeley.
Amanda Watkins, 25, said she can't remember pulling over.
"The last thing I remember was I was going to hit a pole, then everything went black," Watkins said.
Watkins said her medical problem has been diagnosed as a viral infection which can include bouts of dizziness or loss of equilibrium. Watkins said the infection combined with a medication she was taking for migraine headaches caused her to lose consciousness.
