Obama has been the recipient of bumps in the polls lately including from the nation's fiscal problems, the poor performances of Sarah Palin in media interviews, and now the first debate. If the Republican's are hanging their hopes on a strong showing from Governor Palin over Senator Biden in the V.P. debates, they may be treading on thin ice.

As personally likable, charming and absolutely gorgeous as Ms. Palin may be, after 8 years of a less than astute but personable President and the problems we are now facing, Americans are probably going to place a much higher value on competence
