William Holman Hunt’s painting of Isabella and the Pot of Basil (after the Keats’ poem). Isabella mourns the murder of her lover (by her brothers–they want her to find a wealthier suitor) by planting his head in a pot of basil. Hunt has her lover’s hair flowing out a head-sized pot with skull reliefs on it, contemplatively embraced by the longing Isabella. Tragic.
