Newer Gmail Accounts Getting Disabled?

There’s some trouble brewing over at Google’s Gmail support group as well as Digg.

Apparently some users cannot log into their Gmail accounts, with an error that says their Gmail account has been disabled. Judging from the number of replies in the thread, the number of affected accounts is considerable. The word is that only new Gmail accounts are affected, however this is hard to confirm at this point.

One thing to keep in mind here is that Gmail is free, and the old proverb about getting what you paid for applies here. Also, Gmail’s terms of use clearly say that “Google also has the right to terminate your account at any time, for any reason, with or without notice.” Comforting, eh?
