U.N.: Important heritage sites threatened

NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Heritage sites worldwide are threatened by rising sea levels, floods and storms related to climate change, a report by the U.N. Environment Program said.

The UNEP and the Stockholm Environment Institute released a report Wednesday during a conference in Kenya that mapped what the groups said were "global challenges" due to climate change.

The report said the combination of rising sea levels and stronger flooding threaten sites such as 600-year-old ruins in Thailand, archaeological sites in Scotland and a barrier reef in Belize
