The LA Galaxy was already one of the bigger names in the MLS before all the drama with David Beckham ever began. However it was not until yesterday that the boys in the bright white soccer jerseys won their first game of the season, having suffered through one loss and four frustrating draws to begin the season. They defeated the New York Red Bulls, who have a similarly  dismal record, on the basis of a penalty scored by veteran Landon Donovan, who himself is recently returned from a spell on loan to top flight German club Bayern Munich.
