Turkey sent reinforcements into northern Iraq yesterday as clashes with Kurdish guerillas entered their fourth day. Twenty-five tanks are to join the 5,000 troops and 60 tanks already engaged in hostilities. Turkey says 15 soldiers and 112 PKK militants have been killed since operations began and one helicopter has been lost. Normally pro-US Iraqi Kurds are angry that Washington has sanctioned Turkish operations against their fellow Turkish Kurds.
