“Above all, think chocolate.” Tasty advice from “kitchen expert” Betty Crocker, who most likely would lead the many strollers out and about in downtown Delaware, for February’s First Friday and first annual Chocolate Walk, from 5-9 p.m. on February 6.

Sponsored by Main Street Delaware, the evening festivities offer a great way to prepare for Valentine’s Day while socializing with friends and the more than 25 Delaware business owners who will participate in Chocolate Walk. As Stanya Doty, owner of Delaware’s “Simple Indulgences,”(31 North Sandusky Street) explains, each of these businesses will offer patrons chocolate items of all sizes and shapes.

“The fun part will be going around from store to store, collecting all of these chocolates,” she says. But there is more to life—and First Friday—than chocolate. As Doty describes, children also will collect decorative items at each locale, and then can craft their own Valentine’s Day cards.
