TWINSBURG -- For decades, every kid in town toured the Corbett Farm.
It was the last working dairy farm in Summit County, 82 acres sandwiched between center-hall colonials and a CVS on Darrow Road (Ohio 91). Its owners welcomed field trips and families to pet animals, take hayrides and pick pumpkins.
Now that a Beachwood developer owns the land, the city is fighting to preserve the farm buildings and the memories that accompany them.
Last month, the Twinsburg City Council voted against MSRK LLC's application to demolish the 1826 farmhouse and 1911 barn.
MSRK plans to build houses on the land, though the City Council already has denied the company's request to allow more than the 1.2 houses per acre permitted by current zoning.
So MSRK (the initials of the company owners) is suing over that issue, with a trial scheduled for June.
No one has the money to move them, said Audrey Kancler, president of the Twinsburg Historical Society.
