On Monday, when Rush Limbaugh responded to a caller who brought up the point that Reverend Jeremiah Wright had served in the Marine Corps, Rush dismissed the point by saying: " . . . We've played tapes of Obama talking about him having served in the Marines. Lee Harvey Oswald was in the Marines, too, ahem, in the sharpshooter division. . . ."

Usually when someone who is serving, or has served, in the armed forces appears on a conservative talk show, they are served with a heaping ration of flattery and admiration, but Rush's rebuttal with the reference to Lee Harvey Oswald doesn't convey the usual kowtowing attitude.

What's going on here? Is there some hypocrisy afoot? Conservatives being two-faced? Has that ever happened before? Isn't this inconsistency worthy of some note in the realm of journalism?

(Sorry, Mc Cain is supposed to get a Free Ride and never be criticized. Rush also gets a free pass. Senator Obama doesn't.
